Max Dowman Breaks Premier League Record at 16

Teenage sensation Max Dowman has made Premier League history after becoming the youngest player ever to win the English top-flight title.

The 16-year-old achieved the milestone after Arsenal F.C. secured their first Premier League crown in 22 years following Manchester City F.C.’s draw against AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday.

Dowman’s rise has been one of the standout breakthrough stories in English football this season. The midfielder first made headlines in August 2025 when he became the youngest player in Premier League history at just 15 years and 235 days old.

He continued to break records in March after scoring in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Everton F.C., becoming the league’s youngest-ever goalscorer at 16 years and 73 days.

The Arsenal academy graduate also etched his name into European football history in November 2025 by becoming the youngest player to feature in the UEFA Champions League at 15 years and 308 days old.

Dowman will officially receive a Premier League winners’ medal after reaching the minimum requirement of five league appearances during Arsenal’s title-winning campaign.

By the final day of the season, the midfielder will be 16 years and 144 days old, comfortably beating the previous record set by Phil Foden, who won the Premier League with Manchester City in the 2017-18 season at 17 years and 350 days old.

Dowman now joins a select group of teenage Premier League champions, including former Arsenal stars Nicolas Anelka and Gaël Clichy.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has gradually integrated the young midfielder into the senior squad this season, with all five of Dowman’s league appearances coming from the bench.
