Maguire, Foden Among Stars Left Out of England Squad

England coach Thomas Tuchel has named his 26-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America.

The squad includes several surprise omissions. Defender Harry Maguire, midfielder Cole Palmer, and winger Phil Foden did not make the final list.

Tuchel also left out Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luke Shaw ahead of the tournament.

The England manager made bold choices as he prepares the Three Lions for the World Cup. He wants the team to improve on their second-place finish at Euro 2024.

England have reached the final stages of recent tournaments but failed to win a major trophy. The team lost in the finals of Euro 2020 and Euro 2024. England also reached the semi-finals of the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

Fans and football experts have already reacted to Tuchel’s squad selection. Many supporters questioned the absence of experienced players like Maguire and Shaw.

England will now focus on ending their 60-year wait for another World Cup title. The country last won the tournament in 1966.
