Several University of Abuja students were involved in a road crash near the University Gate, Giri, on Monday, 20th July, 2026.
The Students’ Union Government (SUG) visited the scene and assisted affected students.
The SUG also helped move injured students to the Federal Teaching Hospital, Gwagwalada. The students are receiving medical attention at the facility.
Emergency teams arrived shortly after the crash. The teams included NEMA, FRSC, the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and the Nigerian Air Force.
The responders rescued victims and provided first aid. They also helped control traffic around the area.
One person died in the crash. Several others sustained injuries.
The Students’ Union expressed concern over the incident. It assured students of its continued support during this period.
The Union thanked NEMA and other emergency agencies for their quick response.
The University community sympathizes with all those affected. It wishes the injured students a speedy recovery.
