Former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, has condemned the killing of 32 persons in Ungushi community, Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
Pantami expressed his condemnation in a statement shared via his verified Facebook page, describing the incident as deeply saddening and a tragic loss of innocent lives.
The former minister extended his condolences to the families of the victims, Governor Ahmad Aliyu, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, and the people of Sokoto State over the incident.
Pantami called on security agencies to urgently intensify efforts to apprehend those responsible for the killings, describing the perpetrators as terrorists who must be brought to justice.
He stressed that allowing criminals to operate without facing the consequences of their actions could further worsen insecurity, insisting that no individual or group should be above the law.
According to him, security agencies must strengthen their efforts to restore peace and confront terrorism and other forms of criminality across the country.
Pantami also urged leaders and security authorities to remain committed to protecting lives and property, stressing the need for concerted efforts to make Nigeria safe and secure.
He prayed to Allah to guide the country’s leaders and security agencies in their efforts to restore peace, defeat terrorism and other forms of criminality, and ensure lasting security across Nigeria.
