AC Milan have completed the signing of Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos from Paris Saint-Germain in a club-record deal worth an initial €74 million plus add-ons.
The 25-year-old has signed a five-year contract that runs until June 2031. He becomes the first major signing under new head coach Rúben Amorim.
Amorim identified Ramos as his top target for the number nine position.
The Portuguese coach intention is to rebuild Milan around a striker who can lead the line with authority. Ramos fits perfectly as he brings intelligent movement, clinical finishing and an impressive work rate.
The deal breaks Milan’s previous transfer record of €49.5 million, which the club paid to sign Rafael Leão.
After missing out on UEFA Champions League qualification last season, Milan have responded with a major statement of intent. The club want to challenge for major honours in Italy and compete once again among Europe’s elite.
Ramos joins Milan after three successful seasons at PSG, where he made 131 appearances, scored 45 goals and contributed 10 assists.
During that time, he won 12 trophies, including three Ligue 1 titles, two Coupe de France trophies and three Trophée des Champions titles. He also lifted two UEFA Champions League crowns, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.
Ramos arrives as one of Europe’s most complete forwards. Not only does he press defenders relentlessly, but he also creates space for teammates and finishes chances with confidence. As a result, he appears to be an ideal fit for Amorim’s tactical approach.
For Milan supporters, this transfer represents more than the arrival of a new striker. Instead, it reflects the club’s determination to compete at the highest level again. Ramos now carries the responsibility of leading Milan’s new era and helping restore the Rossoneri to the top of European football.
