PSG Fans Flood Paris Streets to Celebrate European Glory

Paris Saint-Germain celebrated their second straight UEFA Champions League title on Sunday as thousands of fans filled the streets of Paris.

The French champions returned from Budapest after beating Arsenal 4-3 on penalties in the final. Supporters welcomed the team with a parade that stretched from Charles de Gaulle Airport to the Champ-de-Mars near the Eiffel Tower.

The players also met President Emmanuel Macron before heading to Parc des Princes. More than 40,000 fans gathered at the stadium to mark the club’s latest European success.

Celebrations Marred by Unrest

The celebrations turned violent in several parts of France on Saturday night.

Police reported clashes with groups of youths in Paris and other cities. Some people set cars on fire and looted shops. Authorities also recorded several attacks and stabbings.

One man died in a motorcycle crash linked to the celebrations. Officials said 57 police officers and 219 civilians suffered injuries. Eight people remain in critical condition.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said police arrested 780 people across France. He added that looting took place in about 15 cities.

Macron Condemns Violence

President Macron praised PSG’s achievement but strongly criticized the disorder.

He described the violence as “unspeakable” and promised tough action against those responsible.

“PSG is an immense pride for France,” Macron said. “We will be ruthless with those who have been caught.”

City Cleans Up After Night of Chaos

Workers began clearing Paris streets early on Sunday. They removed broken glass, damaged bus shelters, burned vehicles, and other debris before the team’s arrival.

Paris officials also debated how to handle future celebrations. Some local leaders called for tighter restrictions on large gatherings around the Champs-Élysées.

Despite the unrest, thousands of supporters celebrated PSG’s historic achievement. The club’s latest Champions League triumph secured another memorable moment in its history.
