Vice President Kashim Shettima has inaugurated a newly constructed Governor’s Office Complex in Borno State. The project is part of efforts to modernise government infrastructure and improve administrative efficiency.
The complex was delivered by Governor Babagana Umara Zulum. It is designed to provide a better working environment for civil servants at the Government House.
Governor Zulum said the previous Governor’s Office had been in use for more than 30 years. He explained that it had become outdated and could no longer meet current administrative needs.
According to him, the new facility will support smoother operations and improve service delivery across government departments.
Vice President Shettima praised the Borno State Government for prioritising institutional development. He said the project reflects a strong commitment to effective governance.
He added that modern infrastructure is essential for improving productivity within the executive arm of government.
Beyond the main complex, Shettima also commissioned several other projects. These include a Presidential Lodge annex, another lodge annex, and a Government House clinic.
The new facilities expand the state’s administrative infrastructure and support both governance and healthcare services within the Government House.
After the inauguration, the Special Adviser on Religious Affairs, Sheikh Muhammad Mustapha, delivered the first Juma’at sermon at the venue.
He urged worshippers to reflect on moral values and seek divine guidance. He also encouraged residents to support efforts aimed at addressing insecurity in the state.
The event attracted several top political figures. Among them were Deputy Governor Umar Usman Kadafur and Senators Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Mohammed Ali Ndume, and Kaka Shehu Lawan.
Members of the House of Representatives, ministers, and other senior officials also attended the ceremony.
The commissioning highlights ongoing efforts by the Borno State Government to strengthen institutions through infrastructure development and improve overall governance.
