Paul Pogba has left AS Monaco after both sides agreed to end his contract by mutual consent.
The decision came on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, ending Pogba’s two-year spell with the Ligue 1 club.

Pogba struggled with his fitness during his time in Monaco, with a recent thigh injury adding to his problems and limiting his chances to build momentum.

Monaco thanked the French midfielder for his contribution and wished him well for the next stage of his career. Pogba now enters the free-agent market and can negotiate with any club without a transfer fee.

The 33-year-old has already attracted interest from clubs outside Europe, with teams in Major League Soccer and the Saudi Pro League making contact in recent weeks.

Both leagues could offer Pogba an opportunity to revive his career, although his fitness will remain an important factor in any decision.

The midfielder has enjoyed a decorated career at the highest level, winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup with France and major domestic trophies with Juventus and Manchester United.

His Monaco chapter has now closed after a difficult period, with his next move expected to become clearer soon. For Pogba, the priority will be finding the right environment to stay fit and return to regular competitive football.
