France Ease Past Sweden With Mbappe Masterclass

The French captain has now scored six goals at the tournament, drawing level with Lionel Messi at the top of the scoring charts. His latest brace also took his remarkable World Cup tally to 18 goals in just 18 appearances, leaving him only one goal behind Messi’s all-time World Cup record of 19.

Mbappe Breaks Swedish Resistance

France doubled their advantage eight minutes after the restart when Bradley Barcola finished off a flowing team move to make it 2-0.
Mbappe then sealed the victory in the 74th minute, calmly finishing for his second goal of the evening and putting the result beyond doubt.
France Set for Paraguay Clash
The comfortable victory sends France into a Round of 16 meeting with Paraguay in Philadelphia on Saturday as they continue their quest for another World Cup title.
Speaking after the match, Mbappe insisted that while his goals are important, the team’s collective focus remains the priority.
“I know who I am and what I’ve got to do, but it’s not just me. I think the team is perfectly aware of what we have to do here,” Mbappe told beIN Sports.
