Professor Bashir Aliyu Umar has called on Nigerians, especially Islamic scholars, Imams, and religious institutions, to intensify prayers for the country amid ongoing economic and social challenges.
The renowned Islamic scholar made the call in Kano, where he urged Imams to continue reciting Al-Qunuti during prayers and encouraged Islamic schools, scholars, and centres of learning to organise special supplications for Nigeria.
Prof. Umar stressed that prayer remains an important means of seeking divine intervention, particularly at a time when citizens are facing hardship and uncertainty.
“Limamai a dage da Al-Qunuti. Malaman Tsangayu, Islamiyu, Majalisan Ilimi, a dage da addu’a kan halin da ƙasar mu take ciki. Allah Ya kawo mana ɗauki. A yawaita Hasbunallahu Wa Ni’imal-Wakeel,” he said.
He also called on relevant stakeholders and authorities to double their efforts towards addressing the challenges confronting Nigerians, noting that prayers should go alongside sincere commitments and practical measures to improve the situation.
The scholar urged Muslims across the country to increase their remembrance of Allah and frequently recite “Hasbunallahu Wa Ni’imal-Wakeel” while praying for peace, stability, and relief for Nigeria.
