Tinubu’s Reforms Will Deliver Prosperity - Prof. Nentawe

The National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has assured Nigerians that the economic reforms introduced by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will eventually deliver long-term prosperity and sustainable growth for the country.

Yilwatda acknowledged that many Nigerians are currently facing hardship due to inflation and the rising cost of living, but insisted that the reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda were necessary to rebuild the economy and secure a stronger future.

According to the APC chairman, the administration’s policies are designed to achieve structural transformation rather than temporary political gains, adding that difficult decisions are often required to build stable economies.

He pointed to what he described as positive signs in key sectors of the economy, including improvements in crude oil production, increased maritime activities and expansion in electricity transmission infrastructure.

Yilwatda said Nigeria’s crude oil production has recovered to about 99.2 percent of the country’s OPEC quota due to improved security and operational efficiency, while recent investments in power infrastructure are expected to boost industrial growth and economic productivity.

The APC chairman also noted that increasing activity at Nigerian ports and growing investor interest in sectors such as manufacturing, automobile spare parts and energy infrastructure indicate renewed confidence in the economy.

He urged Nigerians to remain patient and continue supporting the administration, stressing that the government remains committed to job creation, economic stability and national development despite ongoing economic challenges.

President Tinubu’s reforms, including fuel subsidy removal, exchange rate adjustments and tax reforms, have generated mixed reactions across the country, with supporters describing them as necessary for economic recovery while critics argue that they have worsened hardship for ordinary Nigerians.
