Alex Otti has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving security in Abia State, saying peace and safety remain essential for development and economic growth.
The governor spoke on Wednesday while receiving members of the Alumni Association of the Seventh Regular Course of the Nigeria Naval College at the Government House in Umuahia.
The delegation, led by A.O. Bamidele, visited the governor ahead of the association’s 40th anniversary reunion scheduled to take place in Abia State.
Speaking during the meeting, Otti said his administration would continue to place security at the centre of governance because businesses, investors, and residents require a peaceful environment to thrive.
“For us, security remains a top priority. Without security, every other thing collapses,” Otti said.
The governor also thanked the association for choosing Abia as the venue for its anniversary reunion. He described the decision as a strong sign of confidence in the progress taking place across the state.
“I want to thank you for choosing Abia as the venue for your 40th anniversary reunion. We feel honoured to receive you and we will support your programme in every possible way,” he stated.
Otti further directed his Special Adviser on Security, MacDonald Ubah, to work closely with the association to ensure smooth planning and coordination for the event.
The governor maintained that his administration would continue to support policies and partnerships that promote peace, safety, and sustainable development across Abia State.
