President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the commencement of a $200 million Mega Poultry Project in Kaduna State, marking a major boost to Nigeria’s livestock and agribusiness development agenda.
Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, disclosed this following a high-level strategic engagement with the Minister of Livestock Development, Alhaji Idi Mukhtar Maiha, ahead of the project’s groundbreaking ceremony.
According to the governor, the meeting focused on aligning federal and state priorities to ensure the smooth implementation of the project, which is expected to be one of the most ambitious poultry investments on the African continent.

Governor Uba Sani expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for approving the project and selecting Kaduna State to host the landmark investment, describing it as a vote of confidence in the state’s capacity to drive large-scale agribusiness initiatives.
He stated that the Mega Poultry Project is projected to generate over $450 million in annual revenue and create more than 350,000 direct and indirect jobs across the poultry value chain. The project is also expected to enhance food security, empower smallholder farmers, stimulate agro-industrialisation, and expand Nigeria’s poultry export potential.
The initiative aligns with the Federal Government’s broader efforts to modernise the livestock sector, boost agricultural productivity, and diversify the economy through private sector-led investments.
With its scale and projected impact, the project is expected to position Kaduna State as a major hub for modern agribusiness in Nigeria and across Africa.
