Former United States Vice President Dick Cheney, who served under President George W. Bush from 2001 to 2009, has died at the age of 84.
Cheney, one of the most influential and controversial figures in modern American politics, played a central role in shaping U.S. foreign and security policy following the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, including the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

In a statement released by his family, they said: “We are grateful beyond measure for all Dick Cheney did for our country. And we are blessed beyond measure to have loved and been loved by this noble giant of a man.”
Cheney’s political career spanned several decades. He served as White House Chief of Staff under President Gerald Ford, Secretary of Defense under President George H. W. Bush, and later as Vice President under George W. Bush, where he became known for his strong advocacy of military intervention and enhanced national security measures.
