Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna has formally declared his intention to contest for the governorship of Gombe State in 2027 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a press statement issued on April 22, 2026, Gwamna confirmed that he has submitted his Letter of Intent at both the ward and local government levels, in compliance with the party’s stipulated procedures and internal democratic processes.
Speaking during a brief ceremony at the APC state secretariat in Gombe, the aspirant said his decision is anchored on what he described as a “New Vision for Continuity and Sustainability.” He explained that the vision is focused on consolidating existing achievements while introducing innovative policies and programmes aimed at long-term development, inclusive growth, and improved welfare for citizens.
Gwamna pledged commitment to good governance, transparency, and people-oriented leadership. He outlined priority areas to include peace and unity, economic growth, youth and women empowerment, and sustainable infrastructure development.
He also called on party members, supporters, and the general public to align with his vision, stating that the process toward a more prosperous and sustainable Gombe State has begun.
In his response, the Gombe State APC Chairman, Mr. Mohammed Dantata Ndus, wished Gwamna success in his ambition and stressed the importance of unity among party members to secure victory in the forthcoming general elections.
