Youths in Gombe State have raised over sixty million naira (₦60,000,000) to purchase a governorship nomination form for former Minister of Communications, Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami.
The development, which materialised on Wednesday, follows a commitment made last Friday by young beneficiaries of Pantami’s initiatives, who resolved to fund his governorship ambition as a gesture of appreciation for his impact on their lives.
According to the group, the effort was entirely self-driven. The youths formed a committee on their own initiative, without external direction or pressure, and were able to mobilise the funds within just two days. The total amount raised exceeded the official cost of the nomination form.
They emphasised that all contributions were voluntary, with individuals donating based on personal conviction rather than compulsion.
Observers note that the move highlights the level of goodwill Pantami commands among segments of the youth population, particularly those who have benefited from his support in areas such as education and empowerment.
On Wednesday, representatives of the group visited the designated sales point and successfully purchased the nomination form, thereby fulfilling their earlier pledge.
