The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has officially introduced Senator Sarafadeen Alli as its governorship candidate, alongside his running mate, Adesoji Adedeji, for the 2027 election.
The unveiling ceremony in Ibadan brought together party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters, signaling a renewed push to regain control of the state after years in opposition.
During the event, Oyo APC Chairman Moses Adeyemo emphasized the importance of unity and reconciliation, he urged members to put aside personal differences and focus on collective success, stressing that discipline and grassroots mobilisation would be key to victory.
Adeyemo also encouraged residents to support President Bola Tinubu and APC candidates, noting that the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda has inspired confidence through reforms and development programs.
Senator Alli received his Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination certificate from APC Deputy National Auditor Hon. Gbenga Olayemi, marking the party’s readiness to begin its campaign.
In his acceptance speech, Alli described his candidacy as a shared achievement for APC members across Oyo’s 351 wards and 33 local government areas.
He thanked the party leadership, security agencies, youths, women, and the media for ensuring a peaceful primary process, while also appreciating President Tinubu’s leadership.
Calling for reconciliation, Alli extended goodwill to fellow aspirants and promised to deliver people-focused governance. His agenda includes improvements in agriculture, education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and economic growth, alongside accountability and justice.
The ceremony was attended by prominent figures such as Senators Ayoade Adeseun, Olufemi Lanlehin, Hosea Agboola, and Yunus Akintunde, as well as other party leaders.
APC’s senatorial, House of Representatives, and House of Assembly candidates were also present, reflecting the party’s determination to present a united front ahead of the 2027 polls.
