The National Commission for Persons with Disabilities has partnered Peace for Humanity Foundation to empower Persons with Disabilities.
The partnership inaugurated a Local Organising Committee for PWDs Farm Cities nationwide.
The event held at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja.
It carried the theme, Breaking New Grounds for the Neglected.
Stakeholders from disability groups and government agencies attended the inauguration.

Speaking, NCPWD Executive Secretary Ayuba Burki Gufwan said the initiative marks a shift to action.
He said PWDs can drive national development with proper support.
Gufwan praised Bola Tinubu for promoting disability inclusion and renewed hope.
He described inclusion as justice, development, and smart economics.
Meanwhile, Budget and Planning Minister Atiku Bagudu pledged government support for the project.
He said the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope agenda.
Also speaking, Peace for Humanity Foundation Executive Director Godwin Thompson Udo outlined the project scope.
He said the Farm Cities will cost ₦70 billion nationwide.
The project covers agriculture, mechanised farming, ICT, crafts, and vocational training.
The event’s highlight was the inauguration of the Local Organising Committee.
The committee includes MDAs and disability organisations.
JONAPWD President Abdullahi Mohammed welcomed the initiative.
He pledged grassroots advocacy for persons with disabilities.
Closing the event, NCPWD Director Lawrence Idemudia urged commitment to project success.
