The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) have inaugurated a joint committee to promote public awareness and grassroots mobilisation for ward-level NIN enrolment nationwide.
The committee was inaugurated at the NOA headquarters in Abuja.
Director-General of NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, represented by the Director of Media and Communication, Mallam Bala Musa, said the NIN remains critical for national planning, security, social protection and financial inclusion.
He noted that the success of the ward-level enrolment initiative would depend on strategic communication and effective community engagement.
Moreover, he said the agency would leverage its network of over 200 radio stations, television platforms, social media channels, its AI chatbot, and 818 offices nationwide to drive sensitisation efforts.
Adding that messaging would be inclusive and culturally sensitive, particularly targeting underserved and rural communities.
