Vice President Kashim Shettima is scheduled to visit Ekiti State on Tuesday for a working visit.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti said the visit reflects President Bola Ahmed Tinubu‘s confidence in Governor Biodun Oyebanji and underscores the partnership between the Federal Government and Ekiti State.
During the visit, Shettima will inaugurate the 1.2-kilometre Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu Flyover in Okeyinmi, a project the APC described as one of the signature achievements of the Oyebanji administration.
He will also perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ekiti Knowledge Zone and commission several other projects across the state.
APC State Publicity Secretary Segun Dipe described the visit as both developmental and political, saying the Federal Government recognizes the progress recorded under Oyebanji’s leadership.
Dipe said residents have benefited from improved roads, completed projects, regular pension payments, and stronger state institutions. He added that President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda aligns with Governor Oyebanji’s Shared Prosperity programme, with both administrations pursuing similar development objectives.
According to Dipe, the visit comes at a significant political moment for Ekiti, ahead of the June 20, 2026 governorship election. He argued that the projects scheduled for inauguration demonstrate the benefits of continuity in government and expressed confidence that voters would support Governor Oyebanji and Deputy Governor Monisade Afuye.
The APC spokesman also said he expects President Tinubu to receive strong support from Ekiti voters in the 2027 presidential election.
Beyond the commissioning of projects, Dipe said Shettima’s visit would bring the Renewed Hope agenda closer to the people of Ekiti and complement the state’s development blueprint through joint projects aimed at improving living standards.
Shettima last visited Ekiti in May 2024, when he inaugurated the Omisanjana–Deeper Life–Ajebandele Road and attended an MSME clinic.
