Paris Erupts in Celebration as PSG Win Champions League Again

Paris is preparing a hero’s welcome for Paris Saint-Germain after their second straight UEFA Champions League title. The club will celebrate in the capital under tight security.

PSG beat Arsenal 4-3 on penalties in Budapest. The match ended 1-1 after extra time. The win triggered celebrations across France.

However, the night turned chaotic in several areas. Police reported clashes, vandalism, burglary, and a fatal road accident. Authorities also made hundreds of arrests during the unrest.

By Sunday morning, workers cleared broken glass, damaged bus shelters, and burnt vehicles. Streets in some areas were heavily damaged after the celebrations.

Despite this, fans still gathered in Paris. Large crowds moved toward the Champ de Mars near the Eiffel Tower. They waited for the official parade and team appearance.

Interior Minister Laurent Nunez promised strong security action. He warned against blocking roads or disrupting traffic during the event.

Authorities deployed about 6,000 police officers and gendarmes across Paris. The heavy security aims to control the large crowds expected for the parade.

The PSG team will also visit the Élysée Palace. President Emmanuel Macron will host the squad before they return to their stadium celebration.
