The Osun State Government has launched a Security Trust Fund to strengthen crime prevention across the state. The initiative focuses on providing modern equipment and technology to security agencies.

The fund activates a law passed by the State House of Assembly 14 years ago. It also creates a platform for collaboration. Through it, the government, private sector, and citizens will contribute resources to support security operations.

Speaking in Osogbo, Kunle Adegoke said Governor Ademola Adeleke designed the initiative to improve the state’s security system. He explained that the fund encourages shared responsibility among stakeholders.

According to him, the fund is not just about money. Instead, it connects government, businesses, and development partners. As a result, security agencies can access better tools and support.

Furthermore, the initiative will provide modern equipment, training, and logistics. It will also improve intelligence gathering. These steps aim to close gaps and boost efficiency.

Adegoke stressed that transparency will guide the process. In addition, the fund has a clear governance structure. This structure ensures proper oversight and responsible spending.

He added that officials will track every contribution. They will also justify all spending. Therefore, the government expects to build and maintain public trust.

Meanwhile, he urged the business community to support the fund. He said it will help protect assets and ensure stability. Likewise, he encouraged residents to contribute in any way they can to improve security.
