The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has warned corps members and prospective corps members to ignore a fake redeployment notice circulating on social media, described the notice as fraudulent and urged Nigerians to rely only on official communication channels.

The warning comes as fake documents and online scams continue to target young Nigerians seeking information about mobilization and deployment.

According to the NYSC, fraudsters are circulating a fake redeployment circular to deceive members of the public.

The scheme emphasized that all authentic information regarding mobilization, deployment and redeployment is published only on its official website and verified social media platforms.

It advised corps members not to believe or share unverified notices that appear on messaging apps or other social media platforms.

The NYSC stressed that redeployment requests are processed strictly through official procedures.

The scheme warned corps members against making payments to agents, intermediaries or third parties who claim they can facilitate redeployment.

It reiterated that official NYSC processes should always be followed to avoid falling victim to fraud.

The agency encouraged prospective corps members and serving corps members to verify every mobilization, deployment or redeployment update before acting on it.

Anyone who receives a redeployment notice online should confirm its authenticity through the NYSC before submitting personal information or making any payment.

The NYSC warned that fake redeployment notices can expose corps members to several risks, including:

  • Financial loss through fraudulent payments.
  • Identity theft after sharing personal information.
  • Delays in legitimate NYSC processes.
  • Exposure to online scams and impersonation.

The scheme urged the public to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.

The NYSC advised Nigerians to trust only official announcements regarding mobilization, deployment and redeployment.

Corps members are encouraged to verify information before sharing it with others to prevent the spread of misinformation and protect themselves from scammers.

As online fraud becomes increasingly sophisticated, confirming information through official NYSC platforms remains the safest way to avoid becoming a victim.
