Newcastle United have secured the long-term future of defender Lewis Hall after extending his contract until 2031.
The 22-year-old left-back has signed a two-year extension to his previous deal. The new contract comes amid reported interest from Manchester United.
Hall joined Newcastle from Chelsea in 2023. Since then, he has made 106 appearances for the club and established himself as an important part of the squad.
The England international, who grew up supporting Newcastle, described the new deal as a proud moment. He said playing for the club means a lot to him and his family.
“It’s an absolute pleasure to play for this club and to represent the supporters,” Hall said. He also highlighted his family connection to Newcastle and said making them proud remains one of his biggest motivations.
Hall also praised the progress Newcastle have made under new head coach Matthias Jaissle. He said the team had made a positive start to the season and believes the squad can achieve major success under the new coaching staff.
Jaissle welcomed Hall’s contract extension and described him as an important part of Newcastle’s plans. The coach praised the defender’s attitude, defensive ability and technical quality.
“He’s a very important player for us and for what we are building here,” Jaissle said. He added that Hall has plenty of room to improve and believes his best years are still ahead of him.
The new deal shows Newcastle’s confidence in Hall and their plans to make him a key player for the future. The club will hope the defender continues to develop as they target success in the coming seasons.
