President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) to win the trust of Nigerians through fairness and accountability.
The President made the call while addressing officials, stressing that public institutions must operate with integrity to gain citizens’ confidence. He noted that transparency and responsible conduct are key to improving government credibility.

Tinubu urged the agency to treat Nigerians fairly in its operations. He said accountability must guide every action, especially in revenue collection and public service delivery.
According to him, weak oversight and poor enforcement of rules often create distrust among citizens. He warned that without proper accountability systems, public confidence in government institutions will continue to decline.

The President also emphasized that public service is a trust. He said officials must act with responsibility, integrity, and efficiency in carrying out their duties.
His remarks come amid ongoing efforts by the administration to strengthen institutions and improve governance across the country.

Observers say the message highlights the need for reforms in revenue generation and public sector accountability, especially as Nigerians demand better service delivery and transparency.
The development reinforces the administration’s position that restoring trust in government institutions requires consistent fairness, strong oversight, and clear accountability measures.
