Davido has announced his sixth studio album, ORIADÉ, and confirmed a July 31, 2026 release date, the Afrobeats star shared the news on social media, revealing that the project will feature 13 tracks.
He described the album as “really really African,” emphasizing sounds that reflect his roots and musical identity.
The title ORIADÉ carries strong cultural meaning. It combines Yoruba words associated with “head or destiny” and “crown.” The concept points to themes of purpose, identity and achievement.
The announcement comes as Davido celebrates 15 years in the music industry. He first gained prominence with his 2012 debut album, Omo Baba Olowo, which helped establish him as one of Afrobeats’ biggest stars.
Fans quickly embraced the announcement online. Many flooded social media with crown emojis and shared pre-save links ahead of the release. Others praised the title for highlighting Yoruba culture and African heritage.
The album artwork also sparked conversation. It features Davido dressed in an elaborate red robe that complements the album’s themes of royalty, destiny and legacy. Fellow music star Olamide applauded the striking cover image, adding to the excitement surrounding the project.
Rapper Odumodublvck joined the discussion with a playful remark. He joked that Davido never called him for a feature, prompting fans to speculate about possible collaborations.
ORIADÉ arrives at an important point in Davido’s career. The singer has spent more than a decade expanding Afrobeats’ global reach and building an international audience. With the countdown to July 31 underway, fans now await the full tracklist and any surprise guest appearances.
