The Executive Secretary of the Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board in Plateau State, Hon. Daiyabu Dauda, has called for unity and peaceful coexistence among residents of Jos following recent tensions.
In a statement on Thursday, Dauda urged citizens to embrace tolerance and understanding. He said lasting peace depends on respect for differences.
He expressed concern over recurring crises in parts of Jos. According to him, the conflicts threaten the state’s social and economic stability.
Dauda urged residents to reject violence and promote dialogue. “Peace is a collective responsibility. We must live together despite our religious and ethnic differences,” he said.
He also called on religious and community leaders to intensify efforts in preaching peace, unity, and forgiveness.
The Pilgrims Board boss warned youths against being used for violence. He advised them to focus on productive and lawful activities.
Dauda commended Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, for efforts to restore peace. He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to Jos, describing it as a strong sign of federal commitment to stability.
He reaffirmed support for initiatives that promote harmony across the state.
Dauda urged all stakeholders to work together to restore calm and build a more united society in Jos.
