The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has introduced an automated system allowing candidates to verify and upload their O’Level results from home, reducing the need to visit Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres.
The new process enables JAMB to verify candidates’ results directly with examination bodies, beginning with the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), before the results are uploaded to candidates’ profiles.
In a statement issued on Monday, JAMB’s Acting Director of Public Affairs and Protocol, Dr Fabian Benjamin, said the initiative was designed to make the admission process faster, safer and more convenient.
He said the technology-driven system would reduce queues, unnecessary trips to CBT centres and errors associated with manual O’Level result uploads.
According to JAMB, the new system integrates its e-Facility platform with examination bodies, allowing candidates’ results to be checked directly against official examination records.
The Board said the process would help tackle challenges such as misplaced paper results, fraudulent or unverified certificates and mistakes in the manual entry of subjects and grades.
“Through the integration of JAMB’s e-Facility platform with examination bodies, results can now be verified directly against the examination body’s records before being downloaded into the candidate’s profile,” Benjamin said.
Under the first stage of the process, candidates are required to access the designated result verification platform and provide their National Identification Number (NIN) to verify their identity.
They will then select the number of examination sittings and the relevant examination body before providing their email address and GSM number.
After payment through the available channels, candidates will enter their examination number, examination series and examination year.
Once the details are verified, candidates will receive a Verification Code.
For the second stage, candidates are required to send “VERIFY” followed by their Verification Code to 55019 or 66019. JAMB said the verified result will subsequently be uploaded, with a notification sent to the candidate.
Candidates using two O’Level results will need to log into their JAMB e-Facility profile and select “2026 UTME O’Level Upload.”
They will then enter their Verification Code, after which their two verified results will be displayed.
JAMB said candidates must select between five and nine subjects from the displayed results, ensuring that no subject is selected more than once.
Candidates will then click “Apply the O’Level Results” to complete the submission and receive confirmation.
The Board said the automated verification process would provide candidates with a more convenient option, particularly during periods of high demand at CBT centres.
The system is also expected to reduce dependence on manual documentation and improve the accuracy of information submitted during the admission process.
JAMB said the initiative aligns with the vision of its sixth Registrar, Prof. Segun Aina, to make the Board more customer-focused and technology-driven.
The Board added that it would continue to deploy technology and collaborate with examination and government agencies to simplify its services and make them more accessible to candidates.
