The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd.), has called for sustained national support for members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, stressing that unity, prayers and public encouragement remain vital in the country’s ongoing fight against insecurity.
General Musa made the call while receiving the General Overseer of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, during a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Defence Headquarters in Abuja.
The Defence Minister noted that tackling insurgency, terrorism, banditry and other forms of criminality requires a collective national effort, adding that the moral and spiritual support from religious organisations continues to strengthen the resolve of troops deployed across various operational theatres nationwide.
He commended Pastor Muoka and members of the church for their continued prayers and support for the military and other security institutions.
According to him, the Armed Forces remain fully committed to defending Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting the lives and property of citizens.
General Musa also urged religious leaders across the country to continue promoting peace, patriotism, unity and national cohesion, noting that faith-based organisations play a strategic role in fostering harmony and supporting national security efforts.
In his remarks, Pastor Muoka assured the Defence Minister of the church’s continued support for the Armed Forces and the Federal Government.
The cleric offered prayers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, asking for wisdom, strength, good health and divine guidance to lead the country towards greater peace, stability and economic prosperity.
He also prayed for divine protection and victory for Nigerian troops, as well as lasting peace across the country.
The visit featured an exchange of souvenirs and reaffirmed the commitment of both the Ministry of Defence and the Christian community to continued collaboration in advancing national peace, unity and security.
