Former Nigerian Power Minister, Saleh Mamman has been declared wanted after a Federal Capital Territory High Court in Maitama, Abuja, revoked his bail and issued a bench warrant for his arrest over an alleged N31 billion fraud case.
Justice Maryann Anenih issued the order on Monday after Mamman failed to appear in court for his ongoing trial being prosecuted by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
According to reports, the former minister is facing charges bordering on conspiracy, obtaining by false pretence, and alleged diversion of public funds linked to power sector projects.
The EFCC informed the court that Mamman had been unreachable since May 7, 2026, shortly after he was reportedly convicted in a separate money laundering case involving N33.8 billion.
Mamman served as Nigeria’s Minister of Power between 2019 and 2021 under former President Muhammadu Buhari before he was removed from office during a cabinet reshuffle.
The anti-graft agency has yet to disclose details of efforts being made to apprehend the former minister as the case continues.
