Tinubu Meets African Leaders at Nairobi Economic Summit

President Bola Tinubu arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, early Monday to participate in the Africa Forward Summit focused on economic growth and regional cooperation across the continent.

Tinubu’s aircraft landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport around 12:18 a.m. local time, according to a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga.

Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi, received the Nigerian leader alongside senior Kenyan officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission.

Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron are co-hosting the summit, also known as the Africa/France Summit.

The event will bring together African presidents, policymakers, investors, and development partners to discuss trade, infrastructure, climate resilience, digital innovation, and sustainable development.

According to the presidency, Tinubu’s participation reflects Nigeria’s commitment to African unity and stronger regional economic partnerships.

The President is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with African leaders and international stakeholders during the summit.

The presidency said Tinubu would use the gathering to promote Africa-driven solutions to continental challenges and strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties.

Several ministers and senior government officials accompanied the President on the trip.

The delegation includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Bianca Ojukwu, Minister of Agriculture Abubakar Kyari, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy Adegboyega Oyetola, and Minister of Communications Bosun Tijani.

Other officials on the trip include representatives from the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council and the National Council on Climate Change.
