Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has received a new Nigerian Army battalion deployed to Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.
The new Army battalion will strengthen security operations across Kwara. It will also support efforts to tackle banditry, kidnapping and other crimes.
The Federal Government approved the deployment in July. The battalion will operate from Omu-Aran and support security operations in the area.
AbdulRazaq received the troops at the 22 Armoured Brigade, Sobi Barracks, Ilorin.
The governor thanked President Bola Tinubu for approving the deployment. He said the new battalion would improve security in Kwara.
AbdulRazaq also praised the Nigerian Army for its efforts to protect residents. He stressed the need for stronger security operations across the state.
The deployment will increase the military presence in areas facing security threats. It will also help security agencies respond more quickly to emergencies.
The new Army battalion will work with other security agencies in Kwara. Their joint operations will target criminals and improve the safety of residents.
Omu-Aran and other communities in the state will benefit from the increased military presence.
The Kwara Government has continued to work with security agencies to address threats across the state. The government has also called for cooperation between residents and security personnel.
Community support remains important in the fight against kidnapping and other crimes. Residents can help security agencies by providing useful information about suspicious activities.
The arrival of the new battalion marks another step in Kwara’s efforts to improve security. The state government said it will continue to support security agencies in protecting lives and property.
