Father of former Big Brother Naija All Stars winner, Ilebaye Odiniya, Emmanuel Odiniya, has spoken publicly about the viral altercation involving his daughter and other family members.
In a voice recording shared online by Kogi-based journalist Jeremiah Promise Enemona Ocheme, Emmanuel claimed frustration and repeated confrontations triggered the incident at their Abuja residence.
“I want to put the records straight that what led to that incident was not that I don’t love my daughter. She is one of my best children,” he said.
He explained that he strongly supported Ilebaye during her time on the reality show and mobilised votes for her victory.
According to him, their relationship allegedly became strained after she won the competition.
Emmanuel accused the reality star of ignoring him, becoming disrespectful, and physically confronting him during disagreements.
He also criticised her alleged cosmetic procedures and claimed he advised her against undergoing surgeries at a young age.
Speaking about the latest confrontation, he alleged that the argument became violent after both parties exchanged blows and objects.
The father further claimed that health challenges and financial issues worsened tensions within the family.
Despite the accusations, Emmanuel said he still loved his daughter and hoped for reconciliation.
“I still love my daughter deeply. I want her to change and do better,” he said.
The controversy gained attention after Ilebaye appeared in an emotional livestream video calling for help.
Police later confirmed that several family members sustained injuries during the incident and received medical treatment.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command also said investigations into the matter were ongoing.
