The Plateau State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board has started medical checks for people preparing for the 2026 Hajj.

The board is working with hospitals across the three senatorial zones in Plateau State. Health centres in Pankshin, Mangu, Shendam, Wase, Jos, and Dadin Kowa are taking part in the exercise.

Board Makes Screening Compulsory

The Executive Secretary of the board, Daiyabu Dauda, said every intending pilgrim must take part in the screening.

He said each pilgrim must complete full medical tests. After that, they must submit their results to the board for review.

Board officials will study the reports and give medical advice where necessary.

Dauda warned that anyone who skips the screening will not travel for Hajj.

He said the board wants to confirm that all pilgrims are fit before they leave Nigeria.

He also explained that the exercise will teach pilgrims about important health rules for Hajj. This step, he added, will help them stay safe and healthy during the pilgrimage.
