The Tumfure Diasporian Progressive Movement has reaffirmed its support for Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Gombe State, ahead of the 2027 governorship election.
The group made the declaration on Wednesday during a meeting held in Tumfure community, Gombe metropolis, where it pledged to continue supporting Pantami’s political movement.
Pantami attended the meeting alongside the Gombe State PDP Chairman and other party leaders and stakeholders.
The meeting attracted a large gathering of men and women from the community, with members of the Tumfure Diasporian Progressive Movement declaring their commitment to Pantami’s governorship ambition.
The group said its members, both within Nigeria and in the diaspora, believe in Pantami’s capacity and vision to lead Gombe State.
“We believe in the capacity, integrity and vision of Professor Isa Ali Pantami to rescue and rebuild Gombe State. We, the members of Tumfure Diasporian Progressive Movement, home and abroad, are fully behind him,” the group said.
Responding, Pantami thanked the members for what he described as their unwavering support.
He assured the group that, if elected governor, his administration would pursue inclusive governance and carry citizens across different communities and interests along.
Pantami emerged as the PDP governorship candidate for Gombe State in May 2026 and was subsequently presented with the party’s Certificate of Return.
His emergence followed his movement from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the PDP after withdrawing from the APC governorship primary process. His candidacy has since attracted both endorsements and opposition from political stakeholders in the state.
The latest endorsement by the Tumfure group adds to a series of public declarations of support for Pantami as political activities intensify ahead of the 2027 Gombe governorship election.
