Troops of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have foiled a suspected terrorist plot to attack commuters after discovering and neutralising explosive devices along a road in Zamfara State.
The explosives were planted at two locations along the Magami–Hannutara–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area.
In a statement, the military said the troops, operating under Sector Two, acted on credible intelligence to secure the affected area and conduct a thorough search.
An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was deployed to the scene, where one device was destroyed while another was safely recovered and rendered harmless.
The military said troops had intensified patrols and surveillance in the area to protect residents and prevent further security threats.
Residents and road users have also been urged to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious objects or activities to the nearest security agency.
