Troops of Operation HADIN KAI have arrested five suspected kidnappers and recovered locally fabricated firearms during a joint intelligence-led operation in Jegalari Village, Fune Local Government Area of Yobe State.
The operation was carried out on 23 July 2026 by troops of the 233 Battalion, deployed at the Damaturu Military Cantonment, in collaboration with the Yobe State Hunters Group.
According to the military, the raid followed credible intelligence on the activities of suspected criminal elements operating in the area.
During the operation, troops arrested five suspects and recovered three locally fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, assorted ammunition, and four mobile phones believed to be connected to the suspects’ alleged criminal activities.
The military said the suspects are currently in custody while investigations continue to determine their involvement in kidnapping and other related crimes.
Operation HADIN KAI reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-driven operations aimed at denying terrorists and criminal groups freedom of action across the North-East.
The military also urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious persons, movements, or activities to the nearest security agency. It noted that timely and credible information from members of the public remains vital to ongoing efforts to improve security and protect communities across the region.
