Bashir Bayo Ojulari, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, has received the Vanguard Newspapers’ 2025 Energy Innovation and Reform Icon of the Year Award.
The award recognises Nigerians making significant impact across key sectors, including energy, governance, and innovation.
The honour was presented in Lagos on Friday, where Ojulari was represented at the event by Sophia Mbakwe.
Sophia serves as Executive Vice President, Business Services at NNPC Ltd.
Mbakwe received the award from Ayodeji Adelagun, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria.
She attended the ceremony alongside Andy Odeh, Chief Corporate Communications Officer of the company.
According to Vanguard Media Limited, the award highlights Ojulari’s leadership at NNPC Limited.
The organisers cited his role in driving strategic reforms, operational growth, and improved corporate governance.
They also noted his focus on innovation and value creation in Nigeria’s energy sector.
The recognition reflects ongoing efforts to transform NNPC into a modern, commercially driven energy company.
Industry observers say such reforms are key to strengthening Nigeria’s energy security and long-term sustainability.
