Ndidi Confident as Super Eagles Prepare for Portugal Match

Super Eagles captain Wilfred Ndidi has praised Nigeria’s mentality ahead of their friendly match against Portugal in Leiria on Wednesday.

Nigeria will face Portugal at the 29,000-capacity Estádio Dr. Magalhães Pessoa. The game marks the second meeting between both countries in four years.

Ndidi said the team remains focused and ready for the challenge. The midfielder believes the players have the right attitude to compete against one of Europe’s strongest teams.

Portugal coach Roberto Martínez also enters the match with confidence. He has a full squad available for the encounter.

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo leads the Portuguese team. Other key players include Diogo Costa, Nélson Semedo, Rúben Dias, Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Bernardo Silva, João Neves, João Félix, and Gonçalo Guedes.

Portugal head into the game after a 2-0 win over Chile in Lisbon on Saturday. Bruno Fernandes starred in the victory. The Manchester United midfielder assisted Guedes for the opening goal before scoring a brilliant strike himself.

Nigeria will use the friendly to test themselves against top-level opposition. The match also offers the coaching staff another chance to assess the squad.

Ndidi believes the Super Eagles can produce a strong performance. He expects the team to show character and fight for a positive result.

Fans can expect an exciting contest between two talented sides as they continue preparations for future competitions.
