Mykhailo Mudryk has taken his doping case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). BBC Sport reported the update.
The Chelsea FC winger has missed action for nearly 18 months. A routine urine test in December 2024 led to his suspension.
CAS said it received the appeal on February 25, 2026. Both sides are now submitting documents. The court has not fixed a hearing date.
The Football Association charged Mudryk in June 2025. It has not confirmed if it gave him a full ban.
Reports link the case to meldonium. The drug can improve stamina and breathing. Mudryk may have taken it while playing for the Ukraine national football team in October 2024.
Mudryk joined Chelsea in January 2023 for €70 million. He last played in November 2024.
He denied any wrongdoing after the suspension. He said he never used banned substances on purpose.
Morgan Sports Law is handling his case. The firm has worked with Paul Pogba, Tyson Fury, and Chris Froome.
Mudryk still trains to stay fit. He has worked at Uxbridge FC with a private coach.
Chelsea have not made any statement. The club will wait for the final decision.
