Bruno Fernandes has completed a remarkable 2025/26 campaign with a collection of individual honours that tells its own story.
The Manchester United captain won the Premier League Player of the Season award, Manchester United’s Player of the Season award, the FWA Footballer of the Year prize and, most recently, the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award.
That is four major individual honours from four different voting groups. The PFA award carries particular weight because Fernandes’ fellow professionals chose him as the best player of the season.
His performances also produced record-breaking numbers. Fernandes finished the Premier League campaign with 21 assists, setting a new single-season record.
He also scored nine league goals and played a key role in Manchester United’s return to the Champions League. The achievement becomes even more impressive when you consider what United did not win.
Manchester United finished third in the Premier League and ended the campaign without the league title. Arsenal took the championship, yet Fernandes still collected the league’s biggest individual award and earned recognition from writers, his club and fellow players.
His influence stretched beyond goals and assists. Fernandes carried the creative burden for United and consistently created chances for his teammates. He also provided leadership as captain during a season of major improvement for the club.
Few players can claim such a dominant individual campaign without a league title or major trophy.
For Bruno Fernandes, the 2025/26 season belongs to him.
