Nigerian forward Femi Azeez has capped an impressive 2025/26 campaign with a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
The Millwall forward earned the honour after a strong season in England’s second tier. His performances made him one of the division’s standout attacking players.
Azeez scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in 37 Championship appearances. He finished the campaign with 18 goal involvements.
His form also helped Millwall mount a serious promotion push. However, Hull City ended their hopes in the play-off semi-finals.
Despite the disappointment, Azeez received recognition from his fellow professionals. His inclusion highlights the impact he made throughout the season.
The Nigerian forward joined several of the Championship’s top performers in the prestigious team with his Millwall teammate Tristan Crama also making the selection.
Azeez’s impressive club campaign also brought international recognition as Nigeria handed him his first Super Eagles call-up in may.
He then marked his international debut in style during the Unity Cup, scoring twice for Nigeria and immediately showed his attacking quality on the international stage.
The PFA award carries extra significance because fellow players vote for the Team of the Year. It therefore reflects the respect Azeez earned from other professionals in the Championship.
His recognition caps a breakthrough campaign for the 25-year-old. It also gives him a strong platform to build on as he looks to take the next step in his career.
With his club and international profile continuing to grow, Azeez will hope this award marks the beginning of an even bigger chapter.
