Premier League club Crystal Palace have appointed Pierre Sage as their new manager following the departure of Oliver Glasner.

The 47-year-old French coach signed a three-year contract with the South London club after an impressive season with Lens.

Crystal Palace turned to Sage after Glasner left the club at the end of the season. The Austrian manager departed shortly after leading Palace to UEFA Conference League glory.

Sage arrives with a growing reputation in European football. Last season, he guided Lens to a second-place finish in Ligue 1 and secured qualification for the UEFA Champions League.

In addition, he led the French club to their first-ever French Cup title. His achievements earned him the Ligue 1 Manager of the Year award.

Pierre Sage Targets More Success at Crystal Palace

Speaking after his appointment, Sage expressed excitement about taking charge of Crystal Palace.

“It’s amazing to be here at Crystal Palace. I am excited by the history of the club and by recent seasons,” he said.

The Frenchman also praised his predecessor and outlined his ambitions for the future.

“Oliver Glasner achieved some amazing things, and now I have to do the same. That’s why we come here with a lot of ambition.”

Furthermore, Sage said he hopes to build on the winning culture already established at the club.

“We won last year and we want to continue in this way, in a new club, a new project, but with a lot of winning habits.”

Crystal Palace Looking to Build on Recent Success

Crystal Palace enjoyed one of the most successful periods in the club’s history under Glasner.

The Eagles secured qualification for next season’s UEFA Europa League after winning the UEFA Conference League. Earlier, they also lifted the FA Cup for the first time in club history after defeating Manchester City at Wembley in 2025.

As a result, expectations are high for Sage as Palace prepare for another European campaign.

Steve Parish Welcomes New Crystal Palace Manager

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish said the club was delighted to secure Sage’s services.

“I am tremendously excited to welcome Pierre, who joins us off the back of a trophy-winning season at Lens as well as a fabulous second-place finish in Ligue 1,” Parish said.

He added that the club remains focused on achieving further success in domestic and European competitions.

With a proven record in France and a reputation for developing winning teams, Pierre Sage now faces the challenge of continuing Crystal Palace’s rise on both the English and European stage.
