The Federal Government has expanded the FG cancer patient support fund to help more Nigerians access affordable cancer treatment. The initiative aims to reduce the high cost of care and improve survival rates across the country.

The government said the expanded fund will provide financial support to eligible cancer patients. It will help cover the cost of diagnosis, treatment, and other essential medical services. Officials believe the programme will ease the financial burden on patients and their families.

Health authorities said many Nigerians delay treatment because of the high cost of cancer care. They explained that the new support fund will make treatment more accessible and encourage patients to seek medical attention early.

The government said the programme is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s healthcare system. It also aims to improve access to quality cancer care in both public and accredited health facilities.

Officials noted that early detection and prompt treatment give cancer patients a better chance of recovery. They urged Nigerians to go for regular medical check-ups and seek professional care whenever they notice unusual symptoms.

The Federal Government said it remains committed to reducing the burden of cancer in Nigeria. It plans to expand access to life-saving treatment while supporting patients who cannot afford the high cost of care.

The government added that the FG cancer patient support fund will help more Nigerians receive timely treatment. It believes the initiative will improve health outcomes, save lives, and reduce the financial pressure on families affected by cancer.
