The Arewa Nurses Forum held a special event on May 23, 2026, to launch its new uniform and strengthen unity among members across Nigeria.
The gathering brought together nurses, healthcare stakeholders, and guests in a celebration focused on peace, service, and stronger collaboration in the profession.
National Chairperson, Nurse Sarah Aboman, welcomed members and spoke about the importance of unity within the nursing community.
Aboman recalled growing up in a Muslim household where people lived peacefully despite differences. She said she hopes to promote the same spirit within the nursing profession.
According to her, the Arewa Nurses Forum stands for peace, unity, and social development across Nigeria.
The Chairperson revealed plans to organize medical outreach programmes for orphanages and Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camps in different communities.
She explained that the event also served as a fundraising platform to support upcoming healthcare and humanitarian projects.
Aboman thanked the wife of the Ona of Abaji for her support and presence at the event.
Retired members of the nursing profession were honored and celebrated for their years of dedication and service.
Nurse Suwaibatu Suleiman said the forum promotes peace and encouraged women to care for themselves and their families.
The Secretary, Primary Health Care, praised the leadership initiative and encouraged members to focus on humanity and service rather than political gains.
Dr. Celeb Danladi stressed the need for unity in nursing and raised concerns about maternal mortality in Northern Nigeria. He urged increased awareness efforts.
Dr. Ruqayya Wamako advised women to pay closer attention to their health and seek medical guidance for themselves and their families.
