ADC Releases 2026 Primary Election Timetable

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has released its timetable for the 2026 primary elections. The party also announced nomination fees for all elective positions.

It set the presidential nomination form at ₦100 million. The governorship form costs ₦50 million. Senate aspirants will pay ₦20 million. House of Representatives aspirants will pay ₦10 million. State House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦3 million.

The party also introduced discounts. Youths will get a 50% reduction. Women and persons with disabilities will receive a 25% discount.

The party said the process has already started. It began collecting application forms on April 1, 2026. This will end on May 4, 2026.

It will sell nomination forms from May 5 to May 10. Aspirants must submit completed forms between May 11 and May 13.

The ADC will screen all aspirants on May 14 and May 15. It will release the screening results on May 17.

The party will receive appeals from May 18 to May 19. It will publish the final list of cleared candidates on May 20.

The party will hold legislative primaries on May 21. This includes the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate elections.

Governorship primaries will take place on May 22. The presidential primary will follow on May 25.

The ADC has scheduled a National Executive Committee meeting for May 26. A Special National Convention will hold on May 27.

At the convention, the party will ratify all candidates.

The ADC urged members and aspirants to follow the timetable strictly. It said the process is designed to promote transparency and internal democracy ahead of the 2027 general elections.
