British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua, was involved in a road accident on Sunday in the Makun area of Ogun State, along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.
The incident occurred when a Lexus Jeep with registration number KRD 850 HN, which was conveying the boxer, reportedly collided with a stationary truck under circumstances yet to be determined. Emergency responders and security personnel arrived at the scene moments after the crash.
Joshua was said to have sustained minor injuries, while two other occupants of the vehicles were confirmed dead at the scene. Authorities have not released the identities of the victims, as investigations are still ongoing.

Officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and the Nigeria Police Force have begun inquiries into the cause of the crash, with preliminary reports suggesting that a mechanical issue or road obstruction may have been involved.
As at the time of filing this report, Anthony Joshua is receiving medical attention and has not issued an official statement.
