President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday met with the newly nominated Service Chiefs at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The meeting marked the president’s first official audience with the new military leadership since their nomination.

In attendance were the Chief of Defence Staff, Lieutenant General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede; Chief of Army Staff, Major General Waidi Shaibu; Chief of Naval Staff, Rear Admiral Idi Abbas; Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Sunday Aneke; and the Chief of Defence Intelligence, Major General Emmanuel Undiandeye.

The Service Chiefs were received by the President for a closed-door meeting focused on national security priorities and strategies for strengthening the country’s defence architecture.
President Tinubu charged the new military leadership to demonstrate professionalism, discipline, and commitment to safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity and restoring public confidence in the Armed Forces.
The new Service Chiefs, who recently replaced their predecessors following the president’s approval of a leadership reshuffle in the defence sector, are expected to lead ongoing reforms aimed at enhancing inter-agency cooperation and operational effectiveness across Nigeria’s security formations.
