Anthony Joshua is back!

The British heavyweight overcame a nightmare start to stop Kristian Prenga in the second round in Jeddah, keeping hopes of a blockbuster showdown with Tyson Fury later this year alive.

Joshua suffered two knockdowns just 20 seconds into the contest, leaving many to wonder if his comeback would end before it truly began.

However, he stayed calm, regained control, and stopped Prenga with a devastating second-round knockout. In doing so, he reminded fans why he remains one of boxing’s biggest stars.

But the victory meant far more than another result in the ring.

Joshua walked into the arena wearing custom ribbon bars on his fight kit bearing the names of his late friends, Sina Ghami and Latif “Latz” Ayodele. After the fight, he revealed that their memory inspired him throughout the contest.

Speaking after the victory, Joshua said, “It’s more than punch power. That was spirit, that was Latz, that was Sina. That was their families.”

He also reflected on the lesson he took from one of the most emotional nights of his career.

“Do you know what I learned? I’m not gonna be stopped. I won’t be denied.”

Joshua’s resilience has reignited excitement over a long-awaited all-British heavyweight clash with Tyson Fury. By overcoming early adversity and finishing the fight in style, he sent a clear message to the heavyweight division.

Ultimately, Joshua’s victory was about more than another knockout. It honored the friends he lost, showcased his resilience, and reminded the boxing world that he remains a major force with unfinished business at the top of the heavyweight division.
