Prominent Islamic scholar, Malam Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa has stressed the importance of unity among Muslims and the wider society, describing togetherness as a pathway to peace, strength and development.
In a message shared through his verified Facebook account, Daurawa cited verses from the Holy Qur’an and sayings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) to encourage believers to avoid division and uphold brotherhood.
Quoting Qur’an 3:103, he reminded Muslims of Allah’s command to “hold firmly to the rope of Allah together and not be divided.” He also referenced a Hadith narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, where the Prophet described believers as one body united by love, mercy and compassion.
The cleric outlined ten major benefits of unity, including strength and honour, victory against enemies, increased love among people and easier completion of difficult tasks through cooperation.
He added that societies built on unity often witness progress in education, economic growth and security, while also strengthening religious values and promoting truth.
According to Daurawa, unity also encourages peaceful coexistence, mutual assistance during hardship and protection from conflict and social unrest.
He warned that division weakens communities and creates setbacks, stressing that Islam strongly advocates unity and discourages unnecessary disagreements.
Daurawa concluded by praying for Allah to unite Muslims upon truth and righteousness.
